A long time ago (in techno-land ) in 2009, Ooma set the new standard for VoIP technology with the Ooma Core VoIP Phone System.
It blew services like Vonage out of the water. From little considerations like a speaker feature and brightness control (to help keep things a dim-inum in dark bedrooms) to groundbreaking traffic-management software, Ooma proved that VoIP could deliver consistently clear, high-quality calls for a fraction of traditional phone costs.
The trick was to plugthe Ooma core in BETWEEN your home router and the modem. Its revolutionary software ensured that phone calls got priority in the traffic coming and going into your home.
Ooma Core kept delivering even when competing with simultaneous streaming Netflix video and regular work-from-home internet traffic.
Still a solid investment, Ooma has since expanded their offerings with the Ooma Hub and Ooma Telo, all of which deliver the same high grades as the original.

If ever there were a land line killer, this is it!. Ooma is one of the few products I’ve run across that I’m truly excited about, and find myself constantly evangelizing to my friends. The product is just off the charts in terms of delivering, and the installation is amazingly simple. Really, I believe anyone – including the technophobic – could not only get Ooma up and running, but actually enjoy the process! The packaging and documentation rivals Apple’s – very slick, very well thought through.
